Stevie WonderStevland Haraway Morris (ne Judkins) was born on May 13, 1950. He is known as Stevie Wonder and is considered an innovator in music and an influencer on musicians from many genres including rhythm and blues to jazz to gospel, soul to jazz. Stevie Wonder's use of synthesizers, and other electronic instruments made R&B an all-female show. He was instrumental in bringing these genres into the age of albums by creating LPs that were both coherent and consistent. Wonder was blind from birth, signed with Motown's Tamla label when he was 11. He was later given the name of a professional Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's critical success was at its peak in the 1970s. His "classic period" started in 1972 and was the time of release of Music of My Mind. Talking Book featured "Superstition" One of the most renowned and distinctive sounds recorded by the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. The Grammy Award for Album of the Years was taken by Innervisions (1973) The Fulfillingness's First Finale (1974), and Songs in the Key of Life (1976). He is tied for the third with the most albums with three Album of the YEAR wins. Wonder is the only artist to have won the award on three consecutive albums. Wonder started his "commercial period" in the 1980s; he achieved his biggest songs and the highest levels of fame.
