Her family relocated from Point Pleasant New Jersey when she was six years old. She completed her education at Red Bank Catholic High School, New Jersey. She then attended Catholic University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in architecture. She also played the violin from the age of 4, and was also known as the Violin Lady. Her name was often used to refer to her name due to her appearances. Her neighborhood kids were also taught to play violin through her. At the age of nineteen, she appeared on Season 6 of American Idol and sang the 1976 hit single Free. She was eliminated when she was ranked 16th.
