Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American singer and model from the United States. She is also co-starring with Prince in his 1984 film, Purple Rain. Kotero was the female lead performer in Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. Apollonia was christened as an actress and singer by Prince. The 1980s were a time of change for her, she became one among several other performers who gained from Prince. She was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959, her work began as a model and actress towards the end of the 1970s and included an appearance on the television show CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance that she played in the year the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name at this point. The actress replaced Vanity by the female group Vanity 6 to perform in the film with Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter was not a huge success for the trio, however, she had an even bigger influence as Prince's duet partner with Take Me with You on the soundtrack. The relationship between Kotero and Prince ended when the pair disagreed on the direction she was taking in her career. Apollonia 6, the group she was part of was broke up. Kotero went on to be featured in a few minor roles during the time (reportedly refusing to take part as a character in her Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) and then landed a role on the night-time show Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album debuted in 1988. The R&B and dance tracks weren't well-received by the music buying public. It soon disappeared. Apollonia remained in the spotlight (if somewhat under the radar) in the role of actress throughout the following decade, appearing in small television roles and minor films and released the exercise film. Apollonia produced a Spanish/English bilingual album titled Stay With me. When she returned to school she earned a bachelor's degree in filmmaking. Then she established her own business. Apollonia holds a number of jobs. Apollonia Kotero is an actress also model and a former performer. As an actress she is renowned for her role in the film Purple Rain. In addition, she has been featured in numerous other films and TV shows such as Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model. She was involved in various contests. The American beauty was also featured in music videos for Ray Parker Jr., Eddie Money and other artists. Kotero Entertainment was established by Kotero Entertainment, which is a multi-media company.
